Privacy Policy
We are an independent studio, and we collect as little information as possible. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Anolev Software LLC (“Anolev Software,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) builds applications for macOS, iPadOS, iOS, and watchOS. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information in connection with our website and our apps.
1. Information our apps collect
Our apps are designed to keep your personal content on your own devices. Your content — such as fishing logs, documents, photos, notes, and automation settings — is stored locally on your device and, if you are signed into iCloud, synced across your Apple devices. We cannot see this personal content; Apple keeps it private to you.
WYSIWYmd and Shortcut Scheduler never send any of your content to us. Shortcut Scheduler may request access to your calendars solely to trigger the shortcuts you configure, and that information is used only on your device. We do not operate user accounts, and we do not store your personal content on our servers.
Fly Fishing Log is the one exception, described in the next section.
2. Fly Fishing Log: anonymous community data
To build community insights about what’s biting, where, and when, Fly Fishing Log shares a small, anonymized subset of information from your trips with us. This contribution is required to use the app.
What we receive:
- The month, week, and approximate time of day
- The approximate area, to within about two miles
- Weather and water conditions
- For each catch: the fish species, the fly you used, and the size
What we never receive:
- Your name, email, phone number, or any account information
- Your exact location
- The exact date or time of your trip
- Your photos or private notes
- Trips where you didn’t catch anything
Each shared observation carries a random identifier with no way to trace it back to you, your device, or your account. You can remove everything at any time using Erase My Data in your Profile.
3. Information the website collects
This website is a simple, static informational site. You do not need an account or any personal information to browse it. If we use privacy-respecting, aggregate analytics, that information does not identify you individually.
4. When you contact us
If you reach us through our contact form, we receive the information you choose to provide — such as your name, email address, and message — so that we can respond. We use it only to reply to you, and not for marketing.
5. Apple App Store
Our apps are distributed through Apple’s App Store. Apple may collect information in connection with downloads, purchases, and subscriptions in accordance with Apple’s own privacy policy. We receive only aggregate, non-identifying sales and usage statistics from Apple.
6. Third-party services
We rely on a small number of third parties to operate — for example, Apple (App Store and iCloud) and the provider that delivers messages from our contact form. These providers process information under their own privacy policies.
7. Data retention
Because your app content lives on your devices and in iCloud, you control its retention and deletion. The anonymous community observations contributed by Fly Fishing Log cannot be linked back to you, and you can clear everything from your device at any time with Erase My Data. Messages you send through the contact form are kept only as long as needed to address your inquiry.
8. Children’s privacy
Our apps and website are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
9. Your choices and rights
You can manage your app data directly on your device or through your iCloud settings, and you can choose what — if anything — to send us through the contact form. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights regarding your personal information; reach out and we will help you exercise them.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date above and post the updated policy on this page.
